The purpose of Information tools of e-democracy is to increase the transparency and clearness of political system. We can place in this scope e-access and bulletin boards.

e-Access

In the scope of e-Access we can use world wide web to improve and enchance access official documents, legislation, procedures, services and political information of public importance that contribute to transparency of political process and quality of public opinion. The main purpose of this tool is to enable citizens to oversee their public representatives and government with information that is e-reachable and to improve contact with public representatives. Result of this tool is better political awareness of citizens that are also more included in the work of democratic decision-making institutions. In the comunication-sense this is a strictly passive tool that only informs citizens about activities of institutions. Citizens aren't able to communicate with these institutions so this is basically a one-way communication tool. E-Access can be adapted for different target-groups so users can select which content-directories, information or services are of their main interest.

E-Access to information of public interest is usually regulated through formal rules in democratic societies. This tool is predominant e-democracy tool.

Bulletin boards

Web-based bulletin boards are meant to post public announcements, messages, news, opinions, reports, notifications and other information of public interest. Visitors can search and read through these messages and in some cases also comment on them. It is usually compulsory to register on the board so the posted information is more reliable.
